My engine didn't
come with breather tubes in the heads
so I decided to make some in the valve covers. I choose
to do this because I didn't want to drill the heads while
the engine was assembled.
I bought a stainless steel 1/2" x 1/2" fitting.
And cut off the threaded part..
.
Then I sanded the bottom on my belt sander. I used the rounded part of the
sander to create a semi-rouned
bottom so it would fit better against the valve cover..
Some rough layout of where the fitting will go.
.
I drilled a hole in the valve cover and used a screw to hold the fitting in
place..
I bought this setup from HomeDepot.
This is my first ever attempt at brazing. I was very happy with the way it came
out.
A fizzy picture after it was painted, sorry..
Here is a picture of it on the engine.
And a picture of it going through the tins.
